This is a draft for my elevator which utilises four different objects. The floor stays stable to transport the person safely around the building, while the walls float freely around the platform. Although they float freely they are still close enough to protect people from falling from the elevator mid air.

seems like you have some big plans for your elevators. Good work; you'll probably be able to pull it together assuming the elevator isn't for steve jobs in which case i'm presuming you'd construct it in such a way so as to lead to Mr. Job's most untimely death....
